Counselling for Young People in Basingstoke Ages 12+
Growing up today comes with all sorts of pressures — school stress, friendship challenges, family dynamics, social media, exams, identity questions, and more. As a parent or guardian, it can be hard to know how to help when your child seems overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected.

If you’ve noticed changes in your child’s mood, behaviour, or confidence, talking to someone outside the family can make a real difference.

I offer gentle, supportive counselling for young people in Basingstoke, working with ages 12 and up. Whether they’re struggling with anxiety, friendship issues, school pressure, family conflict, or just finding life tough, they’ll have a space that’s theirs to talk things through.

A Bit About Me
Alongside my private practice, I have co-created and co-run an anxiety workshop for young people in the Fleet area. This is something I absolutely love — helping young people feel heard, understood, and offering them a safe space to explore their anxiety.

I bring that same care and understanding into every one-to-one session. My approach is warm, down to earth, and always led by the young person. I know how important it is that they feel comfortable and not judged.

Teenagers and young people don’t need fixing — they need space, support, and someone who will truly listen. If you're looking for teen counselling or support for young people in Basingstoke, and you want someone who will meet your child with warmth, respect, and real understanding, I’d love to hear from you.
What I Can Help With
Every young person is different, but here are some of the things I can support with:

-
Struggles at school or college
-
Friendship issues or social worries
-
Family conflict or communication problems
-
Feeling overwhelmed or not themselves
-
Big life changes or transitions

What to Expect If You Choose Me
If your child is under 18, I always begin with an initial session that includes you as the parent or guardian. This first session is a chance for us to go over the counselling contract together, make sure everyone understands how sessions will work, and get both your and your child’s consent to move forward.

After that, I’ll ask you to step out so the session can continue one-to-one with your child. It’s really important that they feel the space is theirs — somewhere they can be open without worrying about what’s going to be shared.

Confidentiality and Trust

Confidentiality is something I take very seriously. For young people to benefit from counselling, they need to know that what they share is private. That means I won’t share session content with parents unless:

-
The young person gives me permission
-
There is a safeguarding concern or a serious risk of harm to them or someone else which is covered in more detail in the contract

In those rare cases, I’ll always do my best to talk this through with your child first, so we can handle it with care.
